GIC Assistant Manager Exam Pattern for Specialist Stream
The candidates will be finally selected on the basis of performance in the Online Test and in Group Discussion and interview. The total marks for Written Test, Group Discussion and Interview will be 200. GIC Assistant Manager Online written exam is divided into three parts which are given as follows –
- Part A – Objective Test
- Part B – Objective Test
- Part C – Descriptive Test

Important Points :
1)There is negative marking for wrong answers marked by the candidates in objective tests. For every wrong answer marked, 0.25 marks of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted.
2) Minimum qualifying marks in the online test are 60% for General & OBC and 50% for SC /ST.
3) Candidates shortlisted at the end of phase I will be called for group discussion and interview.
4) Minimum qualifying marks for the overall selection process (online test, GD and Interview) – 60% for General & OBC and 50% for SC /ST.

GIC Assistant Manager Descriptive Syllabus 2021
The descriptive test in GIC Assistant Manager Exam 2021 consists of 3 topics, which are Essay, comprehension and precise. A composite time of 60 minutes will be given to complete the descriptive test.
Essay:
In the essay writing question, a word limit for the essay will be provided. The candidate should introduce the given topic in the first paragraph. Describe the background of the topic that why it is a noticeable issue in this paragraph. Write in detail about the issue in the second paragraph. Try to elaborate your thoughts on the topic with good examples in the second paragraph. In the third and the last paragraph, summarize the issue along with concluding it.
Precis:
Precis writing consists of a paragraph. The students are required to write a summary of the given paragraph. Understand the important points mentioned in the paragraph and summarize them accordingly. The actual essence of the paragraph should not change while summarizing it. The candidates should try to write the Precise (Summary) which is 1/3rd of the length of the given passage.
Comprehension:
In the comprehension question, a passage will be provided. There will be some questions based on the passage. The candidates will be asked to write the answers to the questions in their own language.
